Mission Statement

To provide students with a residential community that contributes to learning, personal development, and citizenship. This is achieved by offering innovative programs and quality services in a safe living environment.

Fall 2008 Housing

Thank you for your interest in housing at the University of South Florida. Due to an abundance of interest in on-campus housing, we are no longer accepting applications for the Fall 2008 semester. We realize this may be stressful for you and we encourage you to seek the assistance of our Off-Campus Housing Office which can be contacted at 813-974-7613. They also have a website with listings of apartments in the area which can be accessed at http://sra.usf.edu/och/.

In an effort to provide an opportunity for those students still wishing to try for campus housing in the Fall 2008 semester, we are creating a waiting list should housing become available. Please click here to download the form to print.

New Policy Beginning Fall 2009

The University of South Florida is committed to providing all of its students with a comprehensive educational experience. There are numerous educational and social benefits for first year students living in the residence halls that may not be realized by those living off campus. Studies show that on-campus residents are retained at higher levels, graduate more quickly, and develop more of a sense of connection to the university.

With this understanding, USF will require all first year students to live on campus their first year beginning in the Fall of 2009.

• Students enrolling for the Fall 2009 semester will be required to live on campus for the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters.
• Students enrolling for the Spring 2010 semester will be required to live on campus for the Spring 2010 semester.
• Students enrolling for the Summer 2010 semester will be required to live on
campus for the Summer 2010, Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters.

Exemptions will be considered for:

• Students who provide documentation of their intent to live in the principal residence of a parent or legal guardian residing in Hillsborough, Pasco, or Pinellas county.
• Students who reach the age of 21 prior to the first day of classes of their first term of enrollment.
• Students who provide evidence of compelling individual circumstances.
